Souls A’ Fire 6 – A Gathering for Black Queer Theology

March 22 - March 25

The CLGS’ African-American Roundtable announces Souls a’ Fire 6, a symposium of queer African American scholars who will explore issues relating to the intersections of Black Church and LGBTQ identities. Come join us for this academic conference which will include soul-stirring worship!

The 44th Annual Antoinette Brown Lecture will kick off this year’s conference with Dr. Nikki Young, Assistant Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies and Religion at Bucknell University, on March 22, 2018 at Vanderbilt Divinity School’s Benton Chapel.

Speakers & Presenters:

This year we will have the pleasure to hear from three Souls a’ Fire Fellows from around the country – Benae Beamon, PhD candidate at Boston University in the Graduate Division of Religious Studies; Leonard Curry, PhD candidate at Vanderbilt University; and Judith R. Clerjeune, MDiv candidate at Vanderbilt Divinity School. We are proud to welcome Dr. Nikki Young, Rev. Martin Espinosa, Rev. Cedric A. Harmon, Rev. Gwen Thomas, and
Rev. Dr. Roland Stringfellow as our Senior Fellow presenters & respondents. We are also excited to have Luther Young, Jr. joining us as our worship leader.
