The immorality of morality

We have all at one point heard or read the misinformed assumption that "homosexuality is immoral". This has been used many times by the government to justify denying God's GLBT people their equality. This means, according to the government, that it is "moral" to mistreat someone you believe to be "immoral".But if one is to assert morality or immorality, we must first discuss what IS in fact moral or immoral to God? People espouse that "homosexual acts" committed by individuals are immoral. I agree halfway and I disagree halfway. I think it is moral if the 2 people are in a deep commitment and see their partner as people instead of "an object used for satisfaction" or "just for fun". I believe it would be immoral if the 2 people were not committed and doing it "just for fun". I believe that God also believes this, since God is the complete expression of love and God is present in all love.
So to God, morality is not judged by one's actions, but the intention behind those actions. If our actions are for good intention backed by love, God is present and it is "moral". If it is not, then God is not present, making it "immoral".
So now, let's have a look at the side of issue that is presumed to be "moral" by the government. The government as a whole insists on treating GLBT people like second class citizens. They do this under the presumptiont that homosexuality is wrong and people who do wrong do not deserve the same rights and benefits others enjoy. Is homosexuality wrong? Remember that if there is love behind anything, God is there. Since all GLBT people are capable of forming the same deep, commited romantic relationships as any heterosexual is, can we attribute wrongness to GLBT people as a whole?
Now let's take a look at what the government is doing. Denying rights to GLBT people because of percieved wrongness, opening doors to discrimination of GLBT people. Since God looks at the intention behind an act to determine whether it is "moral" or "immoral", let us do the same thing. What is the intention behind discriminating GLBT people? The intention is to keep them as second class citizens. I'll be charitable and say that some say they have good reason, "homosexuals are a threat to families and children" etc, but understanding of GLBT people and a small amount of research will show that that is not true. If they are so sure that they are right, then how would doing a little research bother them?
All in all, the intention of opposition to homosexuality is based on fear, misunderstanding, and sometimes even hate. These things do not come from the lord, but operate in Satan's kingdom. The intention behind GLBT people as a whole is to live without this fear, hate, and misunderstanding and to love how God created them to love. I know which side seems more Christian to me.
So who is "moral" and who is "immoral" in this issue? What do you think and what do you think God would think?
